Easter Seals Volunteer Brings Smiles
Two year old Alivia (l), a Seaford resident who receives pediatric outpatient therapy services at Easter Seals, helps Martha Carroll (r), president of the Delmarva Decorative Artists Club, paint one of three murals in the Easter Seals Georgetown facility. After learning of the wide range of services Easter Seals provides, Martha was inspired to paint murals to add some fun to the areas that kids and adults see when they come for therapy. “I try to use the gifts God has given me and to live life joyfully,” Martha says. “I’m blessed, so I do what I can.” The Delmarva Decorative Artists Club is a non-profit service organization that stimulates worldwide interest in and appreciation for decorative painting; recognizes diversity of and excellence in the art form; and serves as the resource center for all aspects of decorative painting. The club boasts a worldwide family of painters with interests as varied as the places in which they live. It is open to all ages and helps many charities. For more information about them visit, http://www.decorativepainters.org/. Easter Seals offers a range of services, including outpatient rehabilitation therapy, early intervention services for children, day services for adults with physical disabilities and cognitive disabilities and assistive technology services to increase the functional capabilities of people with disabilities.
